Recommended Laptop for Uni?

You cannot beat the price of a Used ThinkPad T420 or T430. Really really good laptops. My T420 cost me £140 2 years ago and is still much much more powerful than laptops in the same price range today. I can do Photoshop, Solidworks, run TIA Portal (for anyone who's in automation knows that not even a midrange desktop pc can run this efficiently). It is the device that I am currently using to program StatOwls right now. As far as cheap and cheerful and also powerful laptops go, ThinkPads are the way.

You'll be much better off getting a used industry standard laptop because there is no market for them, they don't look as appealing and aesthetically pleasing which is something that people look for in laptops these days. Newer laptops, you have to be spending quite a bit of money to get a decent power new laptop these days. You also upgrade the processors in ThinkPads, which is not possible in most laptops.
