Hello everyone, thanks again for all the support and voting so far, really happy with the feedback! Another update from me to address some of the comments and concerns people had:
1.Turning TC into GTA: I realize a lot of people might associate a bank robbery heist with chaos and GTA type roleplay, however I thought of the idea on purpose to avoid that style of gameplay. You are not physically taking a gun and taking hostages or anything, the bank robbery itself would simply be the same as stealing from a player. You type a command, and you wait a little bit. The part that follows AFTER the robbery would resemble a MAYDAY type chase that an admin occasionally can trigger. Think of it like a BabyDriver situation 2.Even more wrong-waying from cops and suspects, more chaos on the streets: I agree with this, it is likely that if the idea is implemented then there will be more wrong-waying or careless driving from everyone taking part in the robbery/chase given the nature of the event having high rewards. I think this is sadly unavoidable, but there are some things in place to help mitigate the damages. For instance, there could be an explicit warning to be careful during the chase, and as I suggested that only people with certain amounts of XP could start the robbery means that more experienced players would lead the chase, who are probably more careful. (probably). 3.Police are too invested into the robbery and disregard other crimes: This is a valid point, but I think this shouldn't be a big issue. Just like in real life, a big event like a bank robbery would get priority over a speeding fine for instance, so it's natural for cops to change their priority. To stop people from leaving chases, perhaps a condition for starting the heist is that a certain amount of cops are available (aka. not in a chase). The robbery also would not be a frequent event, therefore cops leaving chases etc. should not happen very often. 4.Cooldown timer being much longer: I agree with this too, my initial comment was just a placeholder for ideas but the more I've thought about it the more it makes sense to have a large cooldown. Bank robberies are not everyday events, nor should they be grindable by players, so a long cooldown would help keep the servers peaceful and keeping the robbery a special ingame event that occurs once in a while. There's no direct feedback from TC team and Chuck yet, however I'm hopeful the support on this thread shows it would be a nice addition |
