I'm not going to comment on this ban, I haven't looked at it in any detail and I have no idea about any of the circumstances of the ban.

What I will say is: with regards to words like idiot, noob, etc - It isn't the word(s) that are our concern, but the way they are used and their context. They can still be used in an insulting, abusive or threatening manner.
Another point to remember is that each ban is evaluated on a number of different merits; the users history (previous warnings, previous offences, how long they have been on our servers, etc); the specific circumstance.. and so on.
