In any case that shouldn't be normal behaviour. (2014-11-12 12:43)Jimmy Wrote: + i dont feel anything in steering wheel if something is wrong. The steering wheel isn't connected to the clutch, mind. Something could be loose or broken in the clutch assy or the flywheel but if you're going to sell the car anyway, perhaps it isn't worth the effort to look into it. |

Lets hope the person you sell it to asks for a test drive....for their sake.
Don't think I could, in good conscience, sell a car to someone knowing full-well it has an expensive problem. |

RE: Gearbox
Dude isnt it kind of a standard thing to check the clutch when you testdrive a car? (3rd gear, pull on the handbrake, and try to drive away, slipping clutches will be revealed guaranteed)

RE: Gearbox
From the video it's pretty clear that isn't normal for a manual car.
The problem is selling a car to someone without disclosing something you clearly know is wrong (e.g. a slipping clutch)--it's an immoral thing to do (and, as Pipa said, is illegal in many countries). |

RE: Gearbox
When I bought this piece of shit car I drive currently, the clutch was nearing the end of its life. I didn't somehow spot it when I test drove it and booyah, I had it for 1 *Removed* week and had to replace the *Removed* clutch.
The asshole who sold it to me "had no idea" about it. I really hope that the possible new owner for this golf is going to properly test drive it, especially if they are looking for like a first car or something and then turn away and keep looking. That just is not how you solve problems especially expensive as that, by moving them to someone else. Now you either go and repair it or turn the golf into a cube. |

RE: Gearbox
I just saw this his clutch is a cable. His clutch is most likely slipping. If you overfill a Volkswagen trans the fluid will leak onto the clutch and cause it to slip.
It could also be the pressure plate but I'd assume clutch |

Afaik here you can lie as much a you want when selling stuff as a private person because lies technically aren't illegal. Once you buy a car from a private person you would jokingly have the "rear light warranty" where after the seller can't see your rear lights anymore he doesn't have any responsibility over the car afterwards. (Note that this isn't a real legal principle.) Only car dealerships have to be truthful about their articles because it's professional business. Although they can still often say that something just broke after you bought the car and it isn't their fault because it wasn't on the car when they sold it (perhaps carefully hidden and not mentioned.) |
