The Stretching of Skins
This was on the old TC Forum, thought I'd link to it again.
»LFSForum Link« When making a skin, images will probably be stretched on the in-game car model. Yup, this is one of the most fundamental parts of making a good skin. Bare this in mind if you're a beginner.
I recommend making a note / downloading the images at the BOTTOM of the OP. |

When I make a skin, I use the MS templates, but instead of leaving them as-is, I make them 2048x2560 pixels. No more stretch-issues, just remember to scale them back to 2048x2048 when you save
|

hmm...I've never ended up having stretched skins, though. And I've done upwards of 60 skins with this method. But I suppose to each his own, right?

I genuinely did not know this, never noticed a problem with my skins though, largely because I don't use perfect squares but scale them so there is a specific number of them instead

Yah, I just resize the image in photoshop to 4096x5120. (Or 2048x2560 or 1024x1280 etc.) If some parts are still stretched then I just transform the individual parts.
