RE: [Discussion] - XFG @ FE2R
Where are you talking about djdok?
I'm quite wondering the same actually. Even the world-record replay shows a nice cut at the first chicane. Isn't there a rule that states, that there have to be atleast 2 tyres touching the tarmac? |

RE: [Discussion] - XFG @ FE2R
You can cut the first chicane as it will prevent as many crashes entering the bridge and also allows for a smoother lap.

RE: [Discussion] - XFG @ FE2R
I'd say as long as you stay between the tyre stack and the road, it's fine.
But I'm not sure what TC thinks about that. |

RE: [Discussion] - XFG @ FE2R
Some tyres and bales have been added to the beach (Last sector) such that people cannot gain an advantage from cutting.
Remember that in the Clean Racers Club rules for the race and qualifying: 2 wheels must be touching the tarmac (not curbs) at all times else they must sacrifice their position. Failure to do so will result in a penalty. In our case, you'll receive a 1 place grid drop either at the end of the race or at the end of quali. |

RE: [Discussion] - XFG @ FE2R
But we can still cut the first corner even though we'll have no wheels on the tarmac?

RE: [Discussion] - XFG @ FE2R
No, the first corner is cuttable whilst keeping 2 wheels on the tarmac.

The one with the tires and grass which everyone cuts? Should place some haybales there as well imo.

RE: [Discussion] - XFG @ FE2R
We want to keep LFS's default layout design. The exception is the gravel trap during the last sector where you can gain a 1-2 second advantage by cutting.
Cutting the first chicane allows for a smoother lap time and it's so brief that it can't really be called "cutting". If we were to place bales there, it would be chaos as there'd be cars spinning and also objects in the road. It's staying as it is unless I see an exceptionally valid reason as to why it should be altered. |
