Small improvement on Blackwood layout
Hellow,
So I noticed that on the main straight road there happen a lot of accidents. I think this is also due to the double lanes at the intersections. People in the right lane (to turn right) also can go straight and they can keep driving side by side in what is supposed to be just one lane. This is very tight and accidents are easy to occur this way. With busses and trucks its even more of a problem. You cannot comfortably pass a bus/truck in the same lane at this straight part with the guardrail in the middle. Long story short, I suggest to remove the double lanes at the intersections, so traffic is more suggested to just use the whole lane and not drive side by side in this small space. This can also reduce the number of accidents. Also, wouldn't it be nice to create a mini-race track on this seemingly unused parkinglot? |

RE: Small improvement on Blackwood layout
Chuck talked about a DRAGSTRIP in the storage yard in the past. Although a mini track wouldn't be a bad idea either, considering we have the shifter kart mod enabled in server but i feel like it would be best located in the storage yard and not the ramfest zone.
That intersection/light is shit (not yours, the current) There should be a solid barrier from the RB all the way to the Lyon Road intersection. Would eliminate a lot of headaches caused there. |

Question, wouldnt it be better if we make left free if no traffic on the crossing road? Like we stop at the traffic light, blinker to the left and make a left with no issue neither chase, just Free to go, if not gonna drive straight.

Yeah it doesn't seem to be working as it opens into two lanes at each junction. Single lane would feel a lot better.
I ain't saying some of you can't drive, but some of you can't drive. |

RE: Small improvement on Blackwood layout
Unfortunately, there are no objects for any race-track due to the long road on the container yard.
However, regarding the junction: I don't see how this change would make anything better or safer, for multiple reasons: - With or without chalk lines, people should always use the junction the same way as they should now, that is: Always drive as far left as possible (and safe) unless you wanna turn right. So, removal of the lines would not really change anything. There will always be people who do it right, and people who do it wrong. The lines simply demonstrates this principle and clearly show, who is doing it wrong and who is doing it right. People will always try to pass you on the left or on the right whether there is space or not. - Removal of lines would simply encourage people to go wherever they want, which is nothing else than anarchy. However, traffic should run in an orderly manner, which is quite the opposite. You will end up having cars queueing side by side all down the queueing lane, but now they think "hey, no lines, no problem", which is wrong. The road is still just one (continuous) lane, just like it was before. So, removing lines would not only make the whole junction less safe, it would also make it less obvious to find the one to blame for the accident, as everyone now think what they do is right. IMO, the main issue with safety on this road is that people ignore those lines and those who drive 5 times as fast as they should. Both could be dealt with by police or admins. |

This could be fixed if the lanes would be abit smaller, so it does not fit 2 cars side by side in 1 lane. On the bottom part you can see double guard rails with some space between them. On the upper part I kept the "default" guardrail, but I placed some speedbumps next to it, to make the lane appear smaller. This can also be done with chalk to make the lane appear smaller. The bottom solution with double guardrails is more forcefully, the upper solution is more suggesting to players. I would suggest the bottom solution. But if you do want to keep the double lanes, here is some other thing that might help: These concrete blocks will also force people to not go straight side by side, simply because it doesn't fit. In general, if you want to slow down the speed on the main road, maybe consider making some sort of chicane or speedbump. (tho chicane would have my preference, since a speedbump can be used as ramp) |

What about people in chases were they pass there will be more ww and more crashes and this seems like this will be just one big traffic jam 1 bus will stop all the traffic. People having hard time moveing when theres 2 lanes if you make 1 lane theres no space to pass someone unless you go ww but then you at risk of hiting people coming infron people dont care that much about road laws to make this safe. I mean you can also test it maby it will work and people will go slower maby iam wrong. |

Police is there to catch speeders, it's basically free money, not sure why people complain. |

However this is still a good "solution" because the real deal aint the layout itself, neither the track, but the professional street racers and WW drivers we have at ALL times, in ANY track, needless to say that TC is supposed to be a city, with casual driving people, not maniacs racing each other for nothing. And that kind of driving causes mess, crashes, people getting airborn, chases being done and flipped cars, destroyed cars, traffic jam, and many stuff that happens everyday. Again, not layout fault, but people. |
