Leeway Speeding.
Just need to clear something up.
I understand that driving in the leeway is not allowed to be driven in constantly. But as a cop are we meant to give them 3 warnings then fine them for careless driving now? As before this new speeding fine system. We used to warn them 3 times and give a low speeding fine. Just wondering what is the right thing to do now. 3 Warnings > Low Careless driving fine. ? |

RE: Leeway Speeding.
Have never heard about this, and afaik the in-game road law does not mention that I cannot drive in the leeway. There's a reason that there is a leeway.

There's a reason that there is a leeway. The law is that you cannot speed. The leeway is still speeding. However, you cannot be fined for driving within the leeway - it's there because there are errors (mathematically speaking) in the speedo and displayed limits and it's hard to never go over the set limit anyway. As driving in the leeway is still speeding, you can be warned but no more. |

RE: Leeway Speeding.
Fining someone for continuesly speeding inside the leeway was allowed, as long as you warned them before.

I'm really confused. Because I used to give 3 warnings then give them a low speeding fine..

RE: Leeway Speeding.
I think this probably has been some word of mouth that's changed as a new person has said it onwards.
Elmo is correct though |

RE: Leeway Speeding.
Well, the old finelist used to spell it out:
Quote:Note 1: There is a 10% leeway on speed limits. So, when the limit is 70mph, you can go 77mph without getting fined. The current finelist doesn't specifically say that, because with the new system it is impossible to fine someone for speeding unless they're going faster than the leeway. If "3 warnings then fine" was intended, we'd have implemented it in the new system. If you used to do something other than what is said on the finelist, you shouldn't have. |
