TBH, I've been pushing for this ever since we originally considered making the MED/RES roles official. It makes sense to me, as people tend to lose cop rights due to poor driving or not following rules - both are issues with MED/RES. Personally, I see two options. Either: Link MED/RES rights with cop rights (need cop rights to be MED/RES) or Be able to revoke MED/RES rights for a limited time - essentially working the same way as banning does now. No training required, just a timed revoke. As for the MED/TOW/Civilian relations and etiquette, see the link at the bottom of the guidelines: http://forum.city-driving.co.uk/showthre...1#pid69161 |

RE: Access to medic job
Problem whit the COP right thing are if i try to be a medic (Im bad at tow & that), and get some users OOB. Should i just lose my cop right's? Say im the best cop on the server (Im not so not comment that) . So i like best the idea 2 from Savy..

RE: Access to medic job
I think the thing with the MED is: They don't know how to use the sirens properly.
When I am going to the scene, I sometimes use my siren to let people know I am coming with a higher speed than usual (140 in 120 zone perhaps). I use the siren to let them know I am coming, not to force my way through. Of course, I still can make a mistake, but I think some MEDs take too much risk with being a little bit faster on the scene. If the rule becomes I need to have Cop rights to be a MED, I would have a problem, since I don't have them. |

What about a certain leeway above the speed limit. Something like 20mph ?

Where is the logic in pulling over a medic, in full livery and using strobe to attend an accident. Maybe an extended leeway for MEDs responding to calls (but breaking this leeway can get you fined) is a good idea. |

I think that's the best idea Michi. Also, will cops be able to respond to police calls/dangers on the road with sirens, as this is what would happen irl?

So if I understand it right (if this rule will be applied). Everything stays as it is, but if there are complaints about your work as a MED, you can't be a MED anymore? |

I want to be a car wreck.. Im expert to do that! But, i think it also can be that we can write a command like !mr (Medic report) [Username to a bad medic] so can all users (Not the medic) see and vote yes/no to get a admin to look on the medic. So if it go over 5 yes or something a tc member will be called and do his job. Or just let the tc members do the job.. They are admin's/tc member and if they cant, the tc team need more members.. |

RE: Access to medic job
MED is so difficult to define because of the lack of life-based consequences in the game. So their best role, as outlined in the link in the post that Elmo posted at the top of Page 2 here, is traffic management.
Don't know if this would apply better for TOW or MED, but there's a service in Virginia I recall seeing called Safety Service Patrol, that in their traffic control and scene management aspect, best describes the role MED has on these servers. I won't post a particular video, but go to youtube and type in 'VDOT Safety Service Patrol', their youtube channel is vdotweb. Interesting sidenote: Don't know if this is for everywhere, but unless otherwise specifically trained, police around here only direct traffic in emergency situations, they are technically not authorized to do so as they are not trained with a Traffic Control Person license. One of the things my Dad, who has one, likes to brag about, that he has rank over a police officer when it comes to directing traffic. |
