Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

Hey Guys

Had my PC since about 2011.

Used to get super quick boot times, but now they are sluggish and so varying.

For example

Anyone got any ideas why? How I can stop it etc?

Thought about doing a whole HDD reformat, however I got my PC from Overclockers where I selected compontents, and cant remember if I still have all the driver disks Confused

Tried cleaning your HDD? Tried cleaning inside your pc to make sure its free from dust? I suggest de-fragmenting your hard drive with the Windows De-fragmenting tool

Another thing would be to reserve windows 10 and wait for it to install on 29/7/15

Ive done a disk defrag but didnt make a difference.

Cba opening up my pc tbh.

Don't you have programs that start at boot time ?

Press windows key + R then type "msconfig", and there's a startup tab.

Hopefully windows 10 will have the same bootloader and startup sequence as 8.1 as that is really fast

You can turn this off and starts these manually when you really need, it should do a little difference.

But damn these boot times are so long.

How would I 'launch them manually'? Or is it when the program opens, that service will then launch?

So un tick 'iCloud' from the startup list, and if you really need it, open it yourself.

run > msconfig > boot > advanced options > select number of processors (highest) + maximum Memory (should set to your memory amount currently) > profit!

Also No GUI Boot can help by 1 second or so.
