Dude 2: 10$ profit -> 20 dollars in the box are his, so he didnt loose the 20$. He bought for 30, got 40 back.

Guy #1 is $10 up, because he put $20 in the box, and was given $30 from selling the box.

Guy #2 however is $10 down, because:
Original $20 put in box: -20
Paid $30 to buy the box: -30
The box had $40 in it: +40
=-10

People just over panicked. It was a 'maybe' for the strike. It wasn't even definate and surely there would of been enough fuel at the stations to go around. I heard profits went up by like 120%.
