RE: Jules Bianchi crash F1
Drivers were complaining about too much water on the track, and it being unsafe. A little rain shouldn't end a race, but if the drivers think it's unsafe to continue perhaps it's time to start thinking.

''Williams driver Valtteri Bottas said the conditions were "on the limit" for stopping the race, but not particularly bad compared to previous wet races.'' "I'm not the one to judge if it was good to go anymore or not - the whole race was tough, especially the beginning and end of the race," Bottas said. ''"I think there have been more difficult track conditions than this. It's just a difficult track in the wet.'' ''"At the beginning of the race behind the safety car we drive 100kph and you could aquaplane, so even if you slow down you might get into trouble.'' ''"In these conditions with more water the car is very nervous and it's very easy to do a mistake."'' Besides the fact that I heard different stories, these quotes are enough reasons to consider whether it was the right decision. |

RE: Jules Bianchi crash F1
Yes i do. I was just pointing out that why would have they red flagged the race if there have been races with worse conditions -which have not been red flagged-
Can't find it but, there were news where Vergne(with 22 laps old tyres)had reported that conditions are still OK just few laps before(iirc) Bianchi's crash. Bianchi had 17 laps old tyres. Edit: found it, "The only drivers with older and potentially more worn tyres than Bianchi’s on that lap were his team mate Max Chilton (18 laps) and Jean-Eric Vergne (22 laps). The latter described the track conditions as “still OK” shortly before the crash." http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2014/10/05/20...pit-stops/ /However, only drivers can know if it was good or bad conditions to drive and i don't really care that much what caused the crash. I just hope Bianchi will make it. |

At some point you should reconsider procedures. |

Ever. And no, they shouldn't have reconsidered any procedures at that point, Jules should have reconsidered his speed. |

This was just a dumb accident that could easily have been avoided. |

Double yellows are to inform that marshalls are on the track and to be prepared to stop. Clearly, with drivers dropping only several tenths of a second though these sectors, there is an issue. I'm not saying it is specifically Jules who is in the wrong--i'm not saying that at all--it's more a case of the FIA enforcing (or not enforcing fully) the flag rules as they are written in the rule-book. |
