Limit speedtrap to one per hour

The main issue with speedtraps - for me at least - is the fact that they erase lasers of cops, whom wants to fine a driver with a proper manual speeding fine, and not an automated one.

I.e. you have lasered a user to a speeding fine of let's say €160. Said user then passes a speedtrap at a lower speed which issues them a €60 fine, and your fine is then gone. This is obviously a bug in the system, which has never been fixed.
I am pretty sure that this is part of the rage from many players, as it pretty much ruins copping for the cops who wants to play the game properly, and not just sit afk with a speedtrap.

On a map like Westhill where, let's be real, Paddock Tunnel Road is the most used road, and thus a great spot for cops to catch a speeder, it only takes one speedtrap to almost ruin the ability for other cops to get a proper laser measurement without the speedtrap erasing it.

It's not a bug, it's there to protect civilians getting fined twice.

There are solutions though; speed traps shouldn't issue the fine if a COP (non stationary) holds a !laser measurement of a car passing near the trap.

Then that's a different thing than what you are suggesting. Limiting speedtrap to X time won't get rid of the main problem. Suggesting an actual improvement will.

I do agree that it is a game breaker sometimes, but whining EVERYTIME a speedtrap is set is just silly.

What i fail to understand is why it's so hard to remove the speed trap function till it's fixed. Or why it's so hard to fix it in the first place. Tons of good suggestions that would not just minimize amount of whining but maybe even improve copping experience.

These are the 4 most easy to implement suggestions without Chuck having to recode the entire lasering system (apart from adding maybe a few more lines)

1) Keep current Speedtrap. But allow cops to laser, chase and fine suspect speeding even though they get fined by Speedtrap. The system will then have to minus and refund the subtracted amount of (Cop laser - Trap Laser. e.g If trap fine is €60, and manual chase is €160, the cop's fine will be automatically €100.)

2) Code in a system that recogonises when a cop is following a civilian closely, and disables the static speedtrap for that particular person so the cop tailing has full lasering ability.

3) Code in a system that can negate the speedtrap fine if the cop behind has already lasered the suspect and he/she is speeding already. Adorable's idea.

4) Have a GUI that can be brought up (cops only) to vote to disable a fellow cop's trap. Vote must be collated and majority only. If the vote passes it means the majority of the cops copping feel the trapping cop is posing an annoyance at that particular street if (lets say) it keeps nulling manual laser.
However, there will have to be a rule and cops cannot abuse this voting system.

Idk, just my few ideas, feel free to add on your own I'm sure all of them will make sense somehow.

Sure it pumpes out money, but it's pumping out money from regular people who tend to have less money and not from cops who have like millions.

Cops can and do play as civilians too, and are also subject to speedtrap fines.
And maybe if you don't have much money, don't speed so much that you get heavy fines from speedtraps.

Really the only valid concern I can acknowledge about speedtrapping is that it gives cops (who are not speedtrapping) less to do, as Thomas has highlighted.
