RE: If I Ruled the World...
Play nicely or I'll moderate this thread, just because it's in the off topic section and it's peoples expression their opinions doesn't mean you can make deliberately controversial statements, forget there is such a thing as a brain, express a desire to maim and potentially kill a certain group of people based on their mode of transport, sexual preferences, give everyone guns, or attempt to disprove or counteract every other persons statement.
It's a *Removed* hypothetical thread in the fun section of the forum, now everyone leave their carebears at home and have some fun. Or I'll run you all over with motorbikes, torture you with foreign language lessons, drown you all in CCTV cameras and make everyone watch 2 men exchange a loving embrace because they're all such awful awful awful things that need to be stamped out and stopped before they overrun the world and aliens come and The Dalai Lama turns into a terrorist! (This last part was sarcastic) |

RE: If I Ruled the World...
I'm a car driver, but will admit that it is generally the car, not the motorcycle, at fault. Obviously you will have some exceptions who speed in between traffic etc. (not saying filtering isn't legal, but at reckless speeds it is massively dangerous)
When I'm a little older I might think about getting a bike |

RE: If I Ruled the World...
Obviously both sides have idiots, but the view most people have on motorcyclists is very negative, which is not correct. They call them arrogant and dangerous, while they actually are constantly busy with avoiding danger, which makes sense as the motorcyclists are the ones at risk in an accident.

RE: If I Ruled the World...
I can only recall one case in my last town where the motorcycle wasn't at fault but a drunk semi driver was. Yet somehow the lady got off! I just have very negative opinions on bikes after one hit my car, and a friend was paralyzed on one (his own fault), and several friends have been hospitalized on them. Even my own mother was hospitalized on our old dirt bike in our driveway because the front brake broke into pieces and flipped her over the handlebars.
Bikes are designed for one reason, to go fast. They have no emission standards which is what gives them great mpg. Think if cars had no emissions we could get amazing mpgs on diesels. I have owned a street bike and two road legal dirt bikes. Even with 100ccs I could do over 80mph. That's no right and is clearly not needed for the average person. I sold the street bike after what happened with the dirt bike at 5 mph. I know a thing or two about bikes... |

That's why you don't know anything about motorcycles. |

I lol'ed so hard on this paragraph And yet you show another example of your discussion abilities: When i read both your last post on this thread it turnes out you want to ram bikeriders off the road because they are more endagered to be hurt on the road. explain that without starting another different topic and i might rethink my descision to ignore you from now on. I've put way too much effort into replying to your nonsense. |

RE: If I Ruled the World...
It's amazing the narrow mindedness when you step out of an American based group. Clearly no one saw the 2x4 or ramming off the road as a joke. Sure someone can tick you off when driving but doing something like that is total stupidity.
And then tell me genius what else are bikes designed for? Light weight, constantly receiving bigger motors. And the diesel comment was referring specifically to the MINI diesel. Over 70mpg and we don't get it because of our emissions standards. Many bikes are more inept(sp?) to danger because of bad ridership or faulty upkeep(lights, reflectors, etc) than the average driver. We were joking about this last week. Donor bikes, as we call them, are so hard to change headlights on riders don't change them and are constantly running only one headlight on high beam because that is the only bulb left! Lol EDIT: and the narrow mindedness comment is not meant to be offensive at all before that train derails and destroys the entire town. |

Oh yeah now as you mention it: strange that irony is still not working in written text. Thats new.
I have no idea what emmission standards are like in the US. If youd explain it i might understand your point. Allthough its a matter of common sense that bikes have, dueto their low self weight, a better feul consumtion than cars. |

Bikes are designed for fun riding. What you are talking about are supersport bikes, THOSE are designed for speed and track riding.
And what you said about the headlights makes no sense to me. |

RE: If I Ruled the World...
Cars in the US have so many emissions checks and standards it's unreal. We don't get many cars Europeans do because the fact they can't burn "clean enough" Diesel motors by far are the filthiest burning scum in the world, but man are they efficient(think train locomotives, boats, semis). The VW Rabbit(Golf in Europe) Diesel got 50mpg highway in 1980, while petrol based engines are still struggling to achieve that.(ignore the fact that walking on foot would accelerate faster lol).
While motorcycles can dump gasoline out onto the road and everything will be ok. Now the main reaso. This is allowed is there is probably 1 motorcycle to every let's say 100 cars so the numbers are small and they are overlooked. If the number was 2:1 I'm positive bikes would be required to have cats, have no unburned fumes and etc. |

RE: If I Ruled the World...
I've seen youtube videos on channels like Premises187 and CyclingMikee where car drivers will deliberately try to force pedal/motor bike users off of the road, fully aware of what they're doing, and with no remorse.
I'd ban drivers like that if I ruled the world. WHICH IS THE POINT OF THE THREAD. If you want to discuss the merits and issues with diesel engines, motorbikes, feel free, make another thread, it's not that hard. You can mouth off to your hearts content with somewhat misguided, uninformed and contradictory views. Any further posts about emissions and diesels and even maybe anything that doesn't specifically contain the sentence "If I Ruled the World" will result in admin action, and I'm veto-ing any posts that are technically on topic but lead the conversation straight back in that direction before they occur because we've got some loveable smart arse's on this forum |

Got another good one. If you fail to use a turn signal you lose your lisence. If you get you lisence back and do it again we crush your car. Simple as that. It's amazing how many people just assume that I'm going to let them over because I'm in a MINI

Stupid as hell, if something happened ahead, and they has to slam the brakes, they get an 8000kg truck in their ass. |
