They're even preparing a "slimmed-down" version of Windows to be installed in hardware like a Raspberry Pi2. That's how much optimized it became.

Like W7 was to XP older machines will have less trouble running a more recent version of Windows. Good job Microsoft.
It's now giving me the option to upgrade to windows 10 in the toolbar on the bottom left of my screen :3

Gonna go for it when I get time. It looks promising.

Well you have to subscribe or something, and then letter you get an email and a release date. Also you have to do it fast because it's for free now but it wont stay for free Smile
You click it then it reserves your copy of Windows 10 for you. Then on the 28th of July it will start downloading and upgrading your system.

You have 1 full year *after* the official release date to claim your free upgrade. So, there is no actual need to rush things.

I got win8, no notifications about upgrading since it was announced.

lol.
You need to have windows 7 or 8.1. I suggest people start upgrading to 8.1 if you already haven't (directed at Windows 8 users).

"Windows 10 will be released on July 29, 2015. Microsoft is already advertising it to WIndows 7 and 8.1 users using a system tray pop-up."

Can't remember but I do recall reading this somewhere, will windows 10 have Cortana?
Yes it will. It's not working for me at the moment on the Tech Preview.
